HandmadeCatalog is the original alternative to Etsy

HandmadeCatalog is the original alternative to Etsy Back in 2002, HandmadeCatalog.com became one of the first 3 online craft malls. I remember our competitors well. They are gone now and it wouldn't surprise me much if the super success of Etsy and terrible economy are to blame. Etsy came along about 3 or 4 years after we launched HandmadeCatalog and the rest is history. Etsy grew to world-wide status and HandmadeCatalog.com condensed their market to only goods made in the US.

HandmadeCatalog's customer base is more mature than Etsy's and much more "Country Crafts" orientated. We do have plenty of Indy Crafts and modern arts and ideas but we do focus on Handmade in the USA. We are currently expanding into handmade edibles and plants.

Our site was recently upgraded and now includes many of the selling features that are popular today. We have social bookmarking built-in and our featured items are promoted on Facebook, Pinterest, Google+ and Twitter. We even have an 800 phone number for customer service.

Our product information screens have multiple images and magnified images as well as full tagging capabilities to help your items get noticed.

We do all the work, we handle all the financials (you do not need a merchant account, a credit card or a paypal account to list with us). We handle all the sales tax. You include your shipping price and you are always paid before you make any shipments.

There are no hidden fees, no per listing fees and for a limited time, no commission or transaction fees. We have 3 levels of membership starting under $5.00 per month. You can upgrade or cancel at any time.

We hope you will consider HandmadeCatalog.com as a great place to sell your crafts and a viable alternative to Etsy.

Have a crafty day,

Pam Wylie - Owner
